In a survery conducted by the Institute of Transformative Marketing Communications (ITMC), majority of respondents favored Bayan Telecommunications Inc.'s cheaper wireless landline service over those of rivals Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) and Globe Telecom Inc. The survey, conducted from March 23 to April 23, 2008, showed that 60 percent of the 1,200 respondents in Metro Manila favor using a Bayan wireless landline phone. Bayan is the country's third-biggest telecom company, with over 160,000 wireless landline subscribers in key cities in Metro Manila, the Visayas and Mindanao.
